Spring break is just around the corner and you know what that means? It’s time to starting planning some things to do so you don’t hear the dreaded…..“MOM! I’m bored!”. Don’t worry I’ve got you covered! In this post I’m going to share 10 kid friendly activities your family can enjoy in the Phoenix area, this spring break.
Also, at the end of this post I’ll give you access to our free guide of ’10 Things to do in Anthem, Arizona’ which is a community located just North of Phoenix. Because well, I love living and working in Anthem, and I’m a little bit obsessed with sharing everything it has to offer, so stick around!
I am all about keeping my videos short and sweet, so we are going to go through these 10 activities fairly quickly. That being said, if you want more information like pricing, hours, and more, you can simply click the corresponding links. Let’s jump in!
#1 Spring Training
I think I might be shunned as an Arizona resident if I didn’t make Spring Training the first thing on this list. Now, I’m not going to pretend that I know the first thing about baseball, but I know that this is a big deal and a ton of fun for the whole family…even if you know as little about baseball as I do! There are 15 different Major League Baseballs teams that will participate at 10 different stadiums around the valley.
#2 Altitude Trampoline Park
If your kiddos have a ton of energy this might be the perfect place to spend an afternoon. In addition to having a TON of trampolines, they also have a 20 foot high Climbing wall, which is located over a foam pit so there’s no need to worry about falling! You may want to book this one online before hand, so that you can guarantee your family a spot at the time you want.
#3 As You Wish
If your kids are more artistically inclined then you may want to go to ‘As You Wish’. Here they can take part in pottery painting or canvas painting. They have 5 different locations so make sure you check the website to find out which one is closest for you! You may also want to call and make a reservation beforehand.
#4 Bearizona Wildlife Park
How fun is that to say… Bearizona! I love it. Anyways, this one might be a bit of a stretch in talking about things to do in Phoenix, since it’s about a 3 hour drive from Downtown Phoenix, in Williams, Arizona, but if you’re up for a family road trip this spring break, this one is totally worth it. As a hiker, I’m not normally thrilled about the idea of seeing a bear, but if it’s from the comfort of my car, it’s a totally different story. Plus, Bearizona has been a featured destination on USATourism.com and it made the list of 10 Best Drive Through Wildlife Parks in USA Today! Check them out online for more information.
#5 Arizona Science Center
When I was a kid I would bug my parents incessantly to take me to the Science Center in every single city we visited. Yeah, I know, I’m a nerd. So, it’s no surprise that this made my list of recommendations. But seriously, who doesn’t love hands on exhibits and science experiments?! Also, they have a theater that has a five-story high screen! They also have one of the most technologically advanced planetariums in the United States. How cool is that!
#6 Go for a Hike & Pack a Picnic Lunch
There are so many family friendly hikes in Arizona. One of my favorite memories is hiking around Saguaro Lake as a kid, with my grandparents. I like to use the All Trails App or website to find hikes. No matter what hike you choose make sure you pack enough water and wear appropriate clothes and shoes!
#7 Children’s Museum of Phoenix
Like the Science Center, the Children’s Museum of Phoenix offers hands on fun. Also, the museum floor staff are called ‘Playologists’… how fun is that? They have a ton of information online, so if you are interested in this one, be sure to check out their website!
#8 Organ Stop Pizza
If you have never been to Organ Stop Pizza, I strongly encourage you to check it out. Again, this one has a serious soft spot in my heart because I remember going with my Grandma & Grandpa as a kid. Organ Stop Pizza is home to Wurlitzer Theater Organ which is played by insanely talented Music Staff, while you eat your dinner. The food is very affordable, and the entertainment is completely free! You can even make song requests, and it is DEFINITELY a family-friendly restaurant.
#9 The Phoenix Zoo
If your kiddos love animals and the outdoors, then the Phoenix Zoo is the perfect way to spend a day over spring break. Be sure to check their website for any special exhibits or events that they may have going on, so that you can plan your trip accordingly.
#10 Castles n’ Coasters
If your kids are more of the thrill-seeker type then you may want to check out Castles n’ Coasters. I think this place has it ALL. They have rides, a multi-level arcade, go karts, bumper boats, and 4 mini-golf courses!
So there you have it, 10 kid approved things to do in and around Phoenix over Spring Break. I would absolutely love it if you could leave a comment with YOUR favorite family activity in the Phoenix area, that way we can share even more of the amazing things the city has to offer!
Last but not least, if you are looking for even more things to do with the kiddos this Spring Break, why not come and visit us in beautiful Anthem, Arizona? Here is a link to our free guide of ’10 Things to do in Anthem’, so make sure you grab your copy!
See YOU, next Thursday!
