Guess what! Small Business Saturday is just around the corner and here in Anthem we have so many awesome local businesses.
Let me tell you about five Anthem small businesses I love to shop at.. I mean support.

Small Business Saturday – What is it?
Have you heard of Small Business Saturday? Small Business Saturday was started in 2010 and this year (2019) it falls on Saturday, November 30. The point of this day is to kick off the holiday shopping season by showing some love to the small businesses that are such an integral part of our communities.
Normally, I can’t keep up with all of these ‘National Days’, like National Dice Day, National Sock Day, and National Microwave Oven Day. What?! Yes, I’m serious, and those are just in the span of 2 days. I mean, where do we draw the line?
Anyways, I am a firm believer in supporting our local businesses, and if Small Business Saturday encourages people to do that, then I am all for it! Small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy. They create jobs, increase our GDP, and invest directly in our communities. They are run by your hard-working neighbors and friends, so let’s show them some love.

Small Businesses in Anthem, Arizona
As I mentioned at the top of this post, there are so many amazing local businesses here in Anthem, and I could go on ALL DAY, but in the interest of time, I am going to list five that I am loving right now. I am also hoping to spotlight more of our local businesses in future videos and blog posts, so make sure you check back often or subscribe to our YouTube Channel.
1. Amped Coffee
Amped is awesome! They saw a gap in the market here in Anthem and they have filled it perfectly. Amped is so much more than a coffee shop. They have all the things you’d expect at a coffee house like coffee, tea, and baked goods, but they also have food, wine, beer, and regular live entertainment.
I think my favorite thing to do at Amped is Trivia Night on Tuesdays, or maybe sitting out on the patio for happy hour, taking in some local live music. Amped is the perfect place to catch up with friends or have a meeting. They even have a quiet space to work or study in their loft, and if that wasn’t enough, your well-behaved pups are welcome to hang out on the patio with you.
2. Andrew Z Diamonds & Fine Jewelry
If you’re looking for a special gift for a special someone this holiday season, definitely stop at Andrew Z’s. This one is near and dear to my heart because it’s where my husband and I bought my wedding band. It‘s family owned and operated, and the service is second to none. They helped me pick the perfect ring for my taste and they were even able to help when we needed it resized in very little time.
3. ProSkill Services
Next to Amped, ProSkill might be the Anthem Business I use and recommend the most. As a REALTOR® I am always being asked to recommend service providers and contractors. I have used ProSkill on many occasions, both for myself and for my clients and they have always been extremely helpful and professional.
ProSkill can help you with your HVAC, water heater, water treatment, plumbing, and electrical needs. One of the things I love the most is that they are very transparent with their pricing and when your technician is on the way they send you a text to let you know, and they even send you a picture of your technician, so that you know who to watch out for. They’re another Anthem business doing awesome work.

4. Creative Home Enhancements
Keeping with the theme of home service providers, I couldn’t forget Creative Home Enhancements. They specialize in kitchen and bathroom remodels, along with flooring. We worked with them to have wood-look tile put into one of our rentals and they took the time to explain the quality of the product and they were able to work around our schedule to get the job done quickly. This is another local business that we can confidently recommend to our friends, family, and clients.

5. Legends
All this talking is making me hungry… just kidding, I’m always hungry! Legends is just one of many amazing local restaurants we have here. The portions are generous and the food is delicious. In fact, Carolynn did a whole video on Legends earlier this year. If you’d like to watch it, simply click here.

So, there you have it! What do you think? Are you going to make an effort to support small businesses this holiday season? I would love to hear about your favorite small businesses in the comment box below!
