If you have school age children, moving has the added layer of complication of “where will my kids go to school?”. Finding the perfect home can be tricky; but ensuring your kids will go to a good school at the same time, can be enough to rattle even the calmest of parents. As your Anthem, Arizona REALTOR® I often get asked about the schools in our community. The good news is that if you’re planning to move to Anthem, you can rest easy knowing that your kids will go to a respectable and reputable school, regardless of where your house is in Anthem.
Let’s dive in and put your mind at ease when it comes to moving your family to Anthem.
Anthem falls under Deer Valley Unified School District 097. Here in Anthem we have 6 schools for children in Elementary to Middle School. We have:
- Diamond Canyon Elementary
- Anthem School
- Gavilan Peak Elementary School
- Canyon Springs STEM Academy
- Caurus Academy which is a Montessori-style school that added grades 9 and 10 in the 2018-2019 academic year.
- Last but not least, Anthem Prepatory Academy which is part of the Great Hearts network and offers grades K through 12.
We also have one high school here in Anthem and that’s Boulder Creek High School.
So, you can see that there are a number of schools right here in Anthem, which means that your kiddos won’t have to leave the community.
Next, and probably more importantly, is the ratings of our schools. Whenever a client asks me about the schools here in Anthem, I’m excited to share the ratings from GreatSchools.org. All but one of the schools I mentioned previously are ranked on GreatSchools.org. All of the schools that were ranked received Above Average ratings with at least 8/10. Three of the schools including Anthem School, Gavilan Peak, and Anthem Prepatory all received 9/10, and Diamond Canyon received a sparkling 10/10.
The other cool thing is that Boulder Creek, our high school here in Anthem received a 10/10 with respect to preparing our children for college and careers, which is super exciting.
So, what do these numbers mean?
According to GreatSchools.org these numbers indicate above average scores on state tests, and that the schools are showing academic improvement year over year. You can find out more details about their numbers on their website.
Personally, I think these awesome numbers are also a testament to the incredible teachers and support staff that we have in Anthem. So, if any of them are watching, I want to give them a big shout out for everything they do! ‘
