Anthem Country Club in Arizona is an incredible place to call home.
We work with people in all stages and phases of life who are considering a move to Anthem Country Club, and some of our most frequently asked questions revolve around the Social Membership.
‘What does the Social Membership Include?’
‘How much does it cost?’
and so on…
We still consider Anthem to be a bit of a hidden gem, so we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by everything Anthem Country Club has to offer. I’m pretty sure, the hardest part will be finding enough time to enjoy it all.
If this is your first time here, welcome! If you’ve been here before, thank you so much for spending your time with me. My name is Lindsay and I‘m a proud Anthem resident and your local REALTOR® with the Wise Move AZ Team at Realty ONE Group. On our blog and YouTube channel we have a lot of fun talking about all things Anthem and real estate every single Thursday, and we absolutely love having you along for the ride.
Anthem Country Club AZ
Anthem Country Club is nestled into the base of Daisy Mountain in the Sonoran Desert, in Anthem, Arizona. Even after years of being here and driving these streets every day, I’m still in awe of how beautiful the drive into the country club is. Also, just as an aside the sunsets you can catch in Anthem Country Club are some of the best I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure if it’s because it doesn’t have the lights of the city to contend with or because it’s a little higher in elevation, but they are so beautiful. If you come for a visit or a tour, make sure you stick around for a sunset.
Anthem Country Club has 2,866 homes, and the amenities inside the club are owned and operated by ClubCorp Inc.
Before we jump in I should clarify that Anthem Country Club residents have access to their own private amenities AND to the Anthem Community amenities like the community center, water park, and so on. We have a ton of videos about Anthem as a whole, so if you’re looking for more information on that, I will link to our Anthem playlist here.
In this video we are going to focus on the amenities that are exclusively available to members of Anthem Country Club.
What does the Social Membership Include?
So much stuff… and what’s even better is that it has two of virtually everything! Your social membership includes access to both the Ironwood and Persimmon clubhouses.
The Ironwood Clubhouse is located on the east side of Anthem Country Club, while Persimmon is located on the west side of Anthem Country Club. Both clubhouses have features that make them unique and the service offerings vary slightly between them. As a resident you’ll likely head to Persimmon for certain activities and events, and Ironwood for others, but more on that later.
#1 Restaurants:
Both clubhouses feature restaurants. First we have Persimmon Bar & Grille which offers a more formal ambiance with awe inspiring views of the 18th fairway and breathtaking sunsets. The menu offers a blend of contemporary and traditional cuisine with a wine list and liquor selection that are sure to please even the most discerning palettes. If you haven’t been to Pasta Night on Thursdays at Persimmon, you are not living your best life.
Next we have Ironwood Grille which is a more relaxed and casual place to eat, drink and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow Members, neighbors, and friends. Happy Hour on Friday night is so much fun.
#2 Fitness Facilities:
After Pasta Night on Thursday and Happy Hour on Friday you might be looking to burn a few calories. Both clubhouses feature state-of-the-art fitness facilities equipped with bikes, rowing machines, treadmills, step climbers, balls, mats, free weights, steps, and all the equipment you could possibly require. Plus there are classes and programs for all levels that run throughout each day, if you prefer group fitness. All of which are run by talented fitness professionals. You can also arrange personal training through the staff. The views from the Ironwood gym are so beautiful, it’s enough to motivate even me to get on a treadmill.
#3 Tennis & Pickleball:
Anthem Country Club’s tennis facilities and programs rank among the finest. At Persimmon there are nine and at Ironwood there are six post-tension hard courts to be used for personal play, league play, training and tournaments. If you have questions about the programs available feel free to send us an email at Team@WiseMoveAZ.com and we’ll happily introduce you to the Director of Racket Sports in Anthem Country Club.
#4 Pools:
Okay, now that you’ve thoroughly exercised at the gym and tennis courts, let’s talk about the pools. Both clubhouses feature gorgeous pools with massive decks that include plenty of lounge and soft seating for sunbathing and socializing, cabanas, covered seating areas, food and beverage service and much more. Both pools are heated in the winter months and are open year round. Persimmon’s pool also has lane swim and there are also group water fitness classes available.
#5 Bocce:
Truth be told, I don’t know that I’ve ever played Bocce ball but every time I pass and people are playing it looks like so much fun. In Anthem Country Club the Bocce ball courts are available for open play. Balls are available at the courts during normal club hours on a first come, first served basis. No reservations are required. You’re also welcome to bring your own equipment. If Bocce ball is your thing, there is also a league you can join.
#6 Spa Services:
Ready to relax? The Spas at Persimmon’s Fitness Club have everything you need to relax and rejuvenate. They have massage therapists and aestheticians available seven days a week. What’s even better is that the spa offers monthly specials to their already very reasonable rates. Additionally there is a sauna and a steam room available to members.
#7 Events:
This might just be the best part. The incredible club staff are constantly putting together fun events for members throughout the week and year. There are honestly too many events for me to list but some of our favorites are Trivia Night, Trunk or Treat, Wine Tastings, and the pool parties. There is something going on all the time and it’s the best way to meet your neighbors.
You’re also able to rent the event spaces for your own private gatherings. The wedding venue at Ironwood is so breathtaking it has even been the backdrop for a celebrity wedding or two. If you have questions about renting the space, let us know and we would be happy to introduce you to the Private Events Director.
What’s Not Included in the Social Membership?
The short answer is golf. If you are a golfer you’re going to want to explore the golf membership options, and I’ll touch on that a bit more later. That being said, social members are permitted to use of the golf facilities as described in the membership policies subject to the payment of applicable Social Member golf fees. Fees vary depending on the time of year and there’s a limit to the number of rounds a social member can play annually.
How much does the Social Membership Cost?
I want to make sure that it’s clear that the social membership is different than the HOA fees. As I mentioned at the start of this video these amenities are owned and operated by ClubCorp, and as a result your social dues are paid monthly directly to Club Corp. At the time I am recording this video the social membership is $229 per month for property owners in Anthem Country Club. That being said, it’s really important to us that you always have access to the most up to date information and these numbers are subject to change. So, if you’d like to download a copy of the current HOA dues, including the social membership, please click here.
Membership Categories
Additionally, there are different membership categories that you need to be aware of. The focus of this video has been on the Social Membership, but there are also Tennis Memberships, and Golf Memberships.
Social Membership:
All property owners in the Anthem Club become Social Members upon taking title to their home. It’s possible for tenants in Anthem Country Club to be social members as well. Social members have access to the facilities we mentioned in this video.
Tennis Membership:
This is designed for people who live outside of Anthem Country Club. There’s a limit of 25 tennis memberships at any given time. Tennis members have access to all of the social facilities. Tennis memberships do not include access to the golf courses.
Golf Membership:
This could be a video all on its own, so I am going to try and keep it brief here. Golf memberships are available to owners and non-owners. It allows use of the club facilities including the golf courses, practice ranges and other golf-related facilities, subject to availability, as described in the membership policies and category of membership. Golf Members follow the ClubCorp tradition of sponsorship by a current Golf Member or the request for an invitation from the membership director. Membership is subject to application, approval and payment of an initiation fee. If you would like more information, please feel free to send us an email at Team@WiseMoveAZ.com and we would be happy to connect you with the Membership Director.
Anthem ONE Program
You also have the option of becoming part of the Anthem ONE program which offers 50% off a la carte dining at your home club and offers access to more than 300 private clubs and special offerings at more than 1,000 hotels, resorts, and entertainment venues. Again, we would be more than happy to answer any questions about this or introduce you to the Membership Director if we don’t have the answer, so just shoot us an email.
So, there you have it! What do you think? I hope this has shed some light on what is included in the Anthem Country Club social membership. We would love to personally tour you around these facilities and learn more about your plans to move to Anthem Country Club. If this video has sparked even more questions for you about life in Anthem Country Club, please send us an email at Team@WiseMoveAZ.com.
