Today I am going to take you to two parks that I consider to be hidden gems of Anthem. They have awesome facilities, plenty of wide-open, seldom used space where children and adults can play and enjoy the outdoors without really noticing the presence of each other.
Plus, I have a special bonus for you at the end of this video, so stick with me as I take you on a virtual tour of two of the best kept Park secrets in Anthem.
#1: Liberty Bell Park:
Located at 40106 N Liberty Bell Way, in Anthem, its parking lot is just off Anthem Way at Liberty Bell Way. This park has a children’s playground sure to entertain and hold the attention of most kids, with plenty of equipment and hands-on entertainment. During those hot summer months, there is a splash pad that runs from 10 am to sunset, it is sure to keep both you and your kids cool, but remember to bring plenty of sunscreen and to re-apply it regularly! For the older children and adults, Liberty Bell Park has a huge multi-use sports field that is generally available, and no reservations are required – get out there and enjoy it! If you just want to take a stroll, there is a paved trail perfect for moving at what ever pace and using what ever means you most enjoy. When you’re ready to take a break, sit and enjoy some food and shelter from the sun, there are several ramadas with BBQs, again, no reservations necessary! This park also has plenty of seating and picnic areas that are not covered and have no BBQ, so if you just prefer to bring your own food and do the picnic thing, there is plenty of room for that too.
#2: Opportunity Way Park:
This 10-acre park is Located at 41906 N 46th Lane. It is in the southwest corner of Anthem Parkside West where Opportunity Way turns into Anthem Way. This lovely park is open in the summer months starting at 6:00 am from April to September and from 7:00 am from October to March. The park closes at sunset throughout the year. Opportunity Way park features not one, but two playgrounds, has several multi-use fields that can be reserved, two ramadas that are reservable on weekends, a lovely walking trail, and a basketball half-court. The Arizona Parks and Recreation Association named Opportunity Way Park an “Outstanding Facility” in 2017, so I promise, I am not the only person who thinks this quiet wide-open park is pretty terrific and one of Anthem’s greatest hidden gems.
Now I want to hear from you! Head down to the comments section below and tell me what your favorite activity is when enjoying an afternoon at the park.
