I’m going to be throwing a lot of information at you in this post, but don’t worry, at the end of this video I will give you a printable summary of all the utility providers and other important contacts in our community. It even includes their contact information.
Yup, you’re welcome!
So, stick around…
If you’re new to Anthem you might expect that all of Anthem has the same utility providers, right?
Oh no, no, no, that would be far too easy.
As you may or may not know, Anthem spreads on either side of the I-17. On the east side of the I-17 you’ll find Anthem Parkside East and Anthem Country Club. On the west side of the I-17 you’ll find Anthem Parkside West, which includes Anthem’s newest development, called Circle Mountain.
The utility providers on the east side of the I-17 are different than those on the west side of the I-17. Okay, some of them are the same, but some of them are different, and the point of this post is to save you the headache of trying to figure out who to call to set up your utilities.
I’m not going to get into the details of why some of the utility providers are different but suffice it to say that your utility providers will be dependent on where your Anthem home is. If you’re not sure what area a particular home falls into, just let me know, I am happy to help you with this. I know it can be tricky when you are trying to familiarize yourself with an area.
Anthem Parkside East & Anthem Country Club
Since Anthem Parkside East and Anthem Country Club are both on the east side of the I-17, they have the same utility providers. I am going start with a list of the utility providers here and then we will jump over to the other side of the highway.
Cable & Internet
You have a couple of choices here. You can go with Cox or you can go with Century Link. I encourage you to get pricing from both and even talk to friends and neighbors to see who they use, and to see if they are happy with their service.
Electricity
On the east side of Anthem you’ll be setting up with electricity with APS. APS stands for Arizona Public Service.
Gas
Gas on the east side of Anthem is provided by Southwest Gas.
Waste & Recycling
If you want your garbage picked up after you move in, you’re going to want to give Republic Services a call.
Water & Sewer
East of the I-17 the homes are required to set up their water and sewer through EPCOR. You wanna know something weird… EPCOR is the same provider we had where I used to live in Canada. Small world, right?
Anthem Parkside West
The west side of the highway includes Arroyo Grande, Anthem Parkside West, and Circle Mountain. In this part of Anthem your utility providers are as follows:
Cable & Internet
Okay, I hate to disappoint right out of the shoot, but this one is actually the same for all of Anthem. You can use either Cox or Century Link. Again, talk to other people in the area and compare pricing.
Electricity
This one is also the same on both sides of the highway. No matter where in Anthem you live, you’re going to want to give Arizona Public Service or APS, for short, a call to set up your electricity.
Gas
This one is the same for all of Anthem as well. Southwest Gas provides natural gas all of Anthem.
Waste & Recycling
Okay, this is where it gets exciting. On the West side of Anthem your garbage and recycling is overseen by the City of Phoenix.
Water & Sewer
Another difference on Anthem’s west side. Water and sewer services are provided by the City of Phoenix.
That pretty much does it for utility providers and the differences across Anthem. Another fun fact is that on the East side of Anthem law enforcement is overseen by Maricopa County Sheriff, while the west side is overseen by City of Phoenix.
